Atletico Madrid Vs Inter Milan – Brazilian & Italy Outcasts In Contention For Rare Starts Under Cristian Chivu

    Published on

Luis Henrique and Davide Frattesi could reportedly return to Inter Milan’s starting lineup for tomorrow night’s showdown against Atletico Madrid.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Cristian Chivu is contemplating playing the fringe duo from the start at the Metropolitano Stadium.

Despite splashing out around €23 million to sign Luis Henrique from Marseille in June, Chivu has rarely used the Brazilian winger this season.

Furthermore, the 23-year-old flopped in both of his Serie A starts so far, effectively losing the manager’s trust.

However, with Denzel Dumfries and Matteo Darmian on the sidelines, he could have one last chance to regain Chivu’s confidence.

Like Henrique, Frattesi has found himself on the fringes of Chivu’s project.

Indeed, the Italian midfielder has only collected 12 minutes of football across the last four Serie A rounds.

Yet, the 26-year-old has made back-to-back starts in the Champions League.

Therefore, Chivu has trusted Frattesi in Europe, though it’s worth noting that Inter faced Kairat Almaty and Royale Union SG in those matches.

But with Henrikh Mkhitaryan injured and Piotr Zielinski dealing with a minor fitness problem, Frattesi could return to the starting XI tomorrow.
